Sahil Deep

@sahildeep · spot-gold watcher, recreational shuttlecock destroyer, and a man who tells people he is "in the startup space."

Three things keep me up at night: the price of gold, my badminton win-rate, and the nagging suspicion that my next pitch deck is one slide too long. I have arranged my entire personality around these in roughly that order. This page is the evidence.

01The obsession

Spot gold. Not the ETF. We do not discuss the ETF here.

Some people check the weather in the morning. I check XAUUSD before my feet hit the floor. I have opinions about the London fix that no dinner guest has ever asked for. If you mention a gold ETF to me, I will smile politely and then quietly judge you for owning a derivative of the thing instead of the thing.

02The cardio

I coordinate badminton like it's a board meeting.

Every week I send a flurry of messages to assemble a court, two opponents, and the will to leave the house. The group chat is a masterclass in logistics that would make any operations team weep. The badminton itself is, frankly, average. The coordination is elite.

Chanchal C.The reliable one

Replies to the court booking within nine seconds. Has never once flaked. Suspiciously good at the net.

Dhruv VakharwalaThe chaos variable

Confirms, un-confirms, then shows up anyway with a brand-new racket and a theory about my grip.

Standing fixture: we lock a court most weeks and I treat the scheduling thread with the same urgency as a gold flash alert. The shuttlecock does not care about my Sharpe ratio, and that is exactly why I love it.

03The empire

Deep in the Surat startup ecosystem. Knee-deep, mostly in coffee.

I am building something. I cannot tell you what, partly for competitive reasons and partly because the pitch changes depending on who is in the room. What I can tell you is that I network with the focus of a man whose runway is measured in lattes, and Surat is my arena.

Show up early, leave latethe best deals happen near the snack table after the panel ends. This is a verified fact I made up.
02
Collect contacts, lose contactsI have 400 business cards and the recall of a goldfish that day-trades.

Fund the empirestep three is intentionally vague. So is the cap table.

Proudly affiliated with Saras Market. Yes, that is a real thing I am actually part of, unlike the empire, which is still mostly a Notion doc.

Send a message. I'll reply between candles.

Want to play badminton, argue about real interest rates, or fund a company that does not technically exist yet? These are the buttons. They all work, which is more than I can say for my trading strategy.
